Cross-over performers get a lot of shit from both sides; many gay performers don't like that they perform in gay porn because they believe that gay men only should be in gay porn, not bi or "gay for pay" men; many straight talent, producers, and agents don't want them performing in straight porn due to the higher perceived risk.

Then their are the agents and producers that don't care and talent that are clueless. Most new performers don't realize there are delays in STD detection periods and that the industry doesn't test for herpes, nor oral and anal gonorrhea, Chlamydia, or syphilis infections, nor that the HIV test used is not effective in the case of anti-viral drugs. (All these tests and additional HIV tests are available in the US(But not necessarily at industry testing centers) and these extra tests are even standard for porn in some other countries). New talent often thinks testing is 100% until they catch their first STD, usually herpes II or gonorrhea.
